On July 9, 2022, the Scotland African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church welcomed members of the community to the Phase I Groundbreaking for the restoration of its historic worship site and the building of a new space for worship.

This was a historic gathering, not simply because we stand on these grounds, but because the presence of so many supporters affirmed the importance of this historically African American congregation in this community.
